DOING IT FOR THE CULTURE: ACCORDING TO WAX & WONDER BRAND AMBASSADORS

For Black History Month, we asked a few of our Brand Ambassadors to shine a spotlight on someone, who is either #doingitfortheculture or has heavily influenced their professional space. Funny enough, they each came up with a woman, which is perfect considering International Women's Day is around the corner.

Our Ambassadors are storytellers and social entrepreneurs, who are making an impact in their local U.S communities and throughout the Black Diaspora.

Here's what Natasha said:

"My fate was sealed junior year of high school. I had a Business Economics teacher who saw my untapped passion and nurtured my love for numbers. I mean I had always done well in all the Math classes I had taken but this was something different, something SPECIAL. It was bookkeeping, bank account balancing, debits and credits, and playing with other folks money (🤑🤑) and I LOVED IT.

So for this Black History Month tribute I’ve chosen to shout out Mrs. Mary T Washington, CPA. She was the first African American woman to become a certified public accountant

Afropolitan Boutique @ The Sister-Circle of Essence Festival 2018

Now that I’m back home, and have gotten my three kids back into some semblance of a summer routine, and above all, my feet have finally stopped throbbing from five days of everything Essence Festival 2018, I can finally take some time to answer the question, "How was Essence?"
In short, it was everything and a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce! To survive Essence in the future, I have put together a few tips.
